J. Freeman
Former Rockfish broadcaster, J moved into the GM role for the 2025 season. J is a 1995 graduate of South View High School and a graduate of UNC-Pembroke. Born in Fayetteville and raised right here in Hope Mills, J has been married to his wife Amanda for 25 years. They round out their family with two sons, both graduates of Grays Creek High School.

Casey Yates
Casey has been a dedicated host parent for the last eight years for various local teams. Her experience in hosting helps her to successfully match Hosts and players, ensuring a summer you’ll never forget!

Cora Carpenter
Hey y’all! My name is Cora Carpenter and I am from Winston-Salem, NC but originally from Greenville. I am so excited to be helping out the Rockfish this year with creative content and social media! I am a rising junior at Campbell University studying kinesiology pre-pt and I work for Campbell Football doing creative content and recruiting!

Troy Mayernik
Troy is a graduate of 71st High School and currently attends Fayetteville Tech, where he studies Digital Media. Troy also works as a camera operator for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, and has been featured on ESPN SportsCenter twice!
Coaching Staff

Ryan Miller
Coach Miller is a 2019 graduate of Gray’s Creek High School. Played collegiately at West Virginia Tech. Graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Management and a minor in Business Administration. He currently serves as an Assistant Baseball Coach at the New College of Florida.

Chris Horne
Coach Chris joins the Rockfish Family for the 2025 season and is no stranger to the Hope Mills/ Fayetteville Sports Community. A Douglas Byrd, played baseball under 2024 Rockfish Assistant, Jeff Nance and Football for legendary Coach Bob Paroli. Coach Chris played collegiately at Southeastern CC under Clemson great Chuck Baldwin. His greatest baseball memories were playing in the Region X Tournament and the JUCO All-Star game. Since the glory days Coach Chris has served as a Head Coach at the High School level and most recently served as Assistant Coach at Fayetteville Tech CC. In addition to coaching, he serves as the Area Rep for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and works alongside of several baseball programs throughout the region providing support and development for coaches and players. Coach Chris calls Stedman home and is married to his awesome wife LynnDee and they have 2 daughters.
